Joey Gipson and Michael Klug opened the shop on East Main. Joey is a championship banjo player. Michael plays fiddle and clawhammer banjo with the Stones River Reelers.
The name comes from the Old Stone Fort, the ancient stone enclosure just west of town. Settlers called it a fort. It was a place people came to. The shop is meant to work the same way.
